About this load planner
Created by Arian Shaker
A free tool for planners, dispatchers and warehouse staff who need a quick answer to one question: does this load fit on the truck?
What it does
- Reads a list of pieces with length, width, height and weight, in the format most people already use in e-mails and spreadsheets.
- Places every piece on the trailer floor and draws a top view with numbered pieces and dimensions.
- Shows the loaded trailer in 3D, which you can turn and zoom, with the cab at the front and the doors at the back.
- Checks the floor space, total weight against the payload and the height of each piece or stack.
- Optionally stacks pieces with the same or a smaller footprint on top of heavier ones.
- Lists where each piece goes, so the plan can be copied into a spreadsheet.
How it works
Pieces are sorted from the largest footprint to the smallest and placed one by one in the position closest to the front of the trailer. Pieces can be turned 90 degrees when that helps. This gives a good, practical plan quickly, but it is not guaranteed to be the tightest possible arrangement.
Everything is calculated in your own browser. Your cargo list is never sent to a server.
Limits
The planner is an estimate. It does not calculate axle loads, check load securing, or know how much weight a crate or carton can bear on top. The person loading the vehicle remains responsible for safe and legal loading. See the disclaimer on the planner page.
